"GROWTH"

Exploring ways that interaction can cause growth in different directions; the project “Growth” adaptively extends the reach of the body to the existing edges, overtakes them, blend the hard boundaries over the time, and, construct the new body of embodiment as an inhabitable living space within those boundaries while evoking the emotion of life. This project is the result of a design approach where Human’s interaction and embodiment within the space can have agency over design and designer and shape the body. However, at the same time interaction of agents and particles in a living organism in micro scale induce construction of the inhabitable human scale living space. Embodiment in different scales becomes the rule for the growth. Interaction becomes the cause of the growth, and a common language between the body of the installation and human. Then our embodiment shapes the body itself.

For the design of the final installation I tend to use the algorithm of the slime mold growth as the building block for the generation of the form of the installation. My discovery started from observation of the living organism, then to the extraction of interaction rules within them, and then implementation of those rules as an algorithm in computational design.
